There are over 300 fencing clubs in England. Some of them are closed (Armed services, or University clubs) but the vast majority are open to the public. Most clubs prefer children to be 8 or older, but there are some mini-fence clubs (using plastic equipment) who take younger children. There is no upper age limit, and a vibrant "Veteran" fencing scene.

Use the list of fencing clubs to find the nearest one to you or telephone England Fencing on 01473 214554 to find your nearest club. Alternatively use an internet search engine. (Tip - if your search includes foil, epee or sabre as well as fencing, you won't get 100s of links for garden fences!)

Some clubs welcome beginners at any time, others run beginners courses at certain times of year.
