Statement Youth Trips 2019
Statement from England Fencing Board Youth Development trips 2019 Poland and Paris
“The England Fencing Board has taken the decision that it needs to reassess the England Fencing trips in 2019 and onwards, to ensure that they continue to be run to the highest possible standards and that they serve the best needs of the young people involved.
As such England Fencing will not be running organised team trips to France or Poland in 2019.
England Fencing realises that this will be disappointing to many young fencers who have worked to achieve a high ranking in their weapon. As such we wish to still recognise these efforts and achievements. Beth Davidson (board member for representative fencing) will contact all those who would have been selected for these trips and provide them with an England Fencing Hoody as recognition of their achievements.
England Fencing also commit to contribute to the entry fee for any international event which is on this circuit https://www.eurofencing.info/competitions/upcoming-tournaments as we believe that these competitions will provide great experiences for our young fencers.
Beth will be the point of contact for reimbursement of agreed entry fees.
We thank you for your understanding, apologise for disappointment, and assure you all that this decision has been taken after much deliberation and with the best long term interests of England Fencers at heart.
We would like to thank the ranking coordinators, team managers, the competition organisers, the fencers, coaches and parents and all involved in England trips in the past and hope that you will continue to support England Fencing and fencers in the future”.
Tristan Parris, President England Fencing
