Director Resignation
On 7th January 2023, Ayesha Fihosy resigned from the Board of England Fencing Ltd.
Ayesha originally joined the Board in 2021 because she very much wanted to play a leading and positive role in driving improvement in terms diversity & inclusion and fair treatment of individuals in a non discriminatory way within the sport.
There is still a huge amount to do in this area, as Ayesha herself experienced recently, both in raising awareness of discriminatory behaviour and in dealing with it swiftly and effectively when it is identified.
Unfortunately for England Fencing and the fencing community, changes in Ayesha’s personal and work circumstances have made it impossible for her to dedicate sufficient time to the role of Director and drive the positive changes we all want and so she has decided to step down.
We all, as a Board and individually, thank Ayesha for her outstanding contribution to making England Fencing a better organisation.
